Sundays on State / Brand Identity
Client: Chicago Loop Alliance promotes businesses and leads revitalization efforts within the Loop. Throughout the summer they close down blocks of Chicago’s iconic State Street to vehicular traffic and transform the thoroughfare into an interactive block party filled with recreation, dining, shopping, music, and art.
Client challenge: Develop a logo, brand identity, marketing collateral, and event signage for the downtown event series, Sundays on State, with a goal to accelerate the economic recovery of the Loop, unite the community, and spark joy.
Our approach: Utilizing the brand’s condensed font for the logo and altering its appearance by adding a three-dimensional shadow, then pairing it with an expressive, handwritten font, created a dynamic lockup. Summer-inspired icons and a bright color palette rounded out the brand graphics for an easily recognizable campaign.
