MILLIONS OF MOMENTS: THE CHICAGO SUN-TIMES PHOTO COLLECTION EXHIBIT
Client: The Chicago History Museum’s Millions of Moments: Chicago Sun-Times Collection features 150 images from the Museum’s collection. It is a first look at highlights from five million negatives spanning 1940s–early 2000s. It is one of the largest newspaper photograph collections ever acquired by an American museum.
Client challenge: Create marketing and promotional materials announcing the opening of the exhibit and subsequent pieces during the entire run of the exhibition as the Museum continues to process negatives from this extraordinary collection.
Our approach: The bold images that vividly captured the emotions of the photos’ subjects in each moment needed to be the “heroes” of the campaign. To keep the focus on the images, the typography and design was simple and graphic.
